Anonymous asked: Hi Aysha. I know this is random, but I have to ask you. What do you know about Tunisia? Would you like to go there? And lastly will you be mad if someone of importance go there without you? Like I said, very random. You can choose to ignore or you can answer if you want to. Thanks. ;)

Hi.

This is totally random indeed. I don’t know much about Tunisia to be honest and I am not sure if I want to go there. What do you mean someone of importance?

Speaking my mind

Some Malaysians have this unexplainable ‘hate’ towards Singapore. And perhaps vice versa. I’m sorry I don’t understand it and I never will. Hate is such a horrible thing to begin with.

As you may know, I am frequently on Twitter and I speak my mind there. I may have offended some but that was never my intention at all. I tweet what I feel and I don’t wish to please each and everyone of people on Twitter because I certainly can’t.

I have lived in Singapore for about 9 months now. I don’t know a lot of Singaporeans but I know how they are at least, what kind of people they are and all. There are things that I don’t like and there are that I am fine with. The same with my own country, Malaysia.

For me, even though I am a Malaysian, that doesn’t mean Malaysia are all correct and perfect and that Singapore is arrogant or whatever. That doesn’t make any sense. What’s wrong is wrong, what’s right is right. Everyone is flawed in their own ways.

What’s not easy is when I speak my mind about something that I favour about Singapore more than Malaysia. For example if I say “Singapore is more organised than Malaysia.” That is the truth. But some Malaysians will think I’m a traitor for saying that, I should back up my country etc. Nonsense.

Well, obviously they got me wrong. And there are things you don’t need to explain. I don’t say good things about Singapore to diss Malaysia and I don’t say good things about Malaysia to hate Singapore. NO. I say what I feel about it and if some people don’t agree, that’s not my problem.

There are pros and cons in everything and people just have to learn to accept that. Maybe I can forgive them about that because maybe they don’t understand. But maybe they could open up their mind a bit.

But what can I do. Everybody can’t please everybody.

Anonymous asked: Hi Aysha. Unique name :) Can you tell me what's the pro and cons of having an internship in a big company? Is small company better or big company? I can't seem to make up my mind besides I need an expert like you to answer these based on your experience please help me Aysha

Hi.

I’m not an expert but I guess I can advice you a litte bit on this. Well for me, it’s always better if you do internship at a big company, best at multinational company. First, they will actually pay you allowance and it will also look good on your resume.

Most of the small companies don’t give allowance for interns because to them, you need them and not the other way round. And they will actually make you do a lot of work, even those that you didn’t apply for. It happened to my friends. Big companies are more considerate, if you do work, it’s only right you get something in return.

Then again, it’s not only the money that matters but your internship resume is important and also will help a lot when you finished your internship and looking for a real job.

I hope this helps and all the best :)

Today at work was nothing but Chelsea’s victory against defending Champions, Barcelona. Well, although I am not a Chelsea fan, I admit it’s quite something for Chelsea to beat Barcelona. It’s a massive victory and no doubt, very sweet for the Chelsea fans. I know how it feels.

As we all know, it’s not all rainbows for my team, Manchester United, this season. Out of Champions League, out of Europa League, FA Cup and even Carling Cup. Horrible I must say and our last hope is the Premier League which I hope we can get snatch 20th title.

Every time I hear the Champions League theme song this season, I feel a bit sad. I missed it. I missed United in it. It’s a huge competition and to see your team in it is great, let alone win it. That’s why I said I know how great Chelsea fans might feel.

That’s the best thing about football. The adrenaline, the excitement. It’s priceless, it should be cherished.

And for that, I attached the video of Champions League final 2008. Manchester United vs Chelsea. I still remember that clearly and I almost teared up because that victory was indeed very sweet :’)

evnglka asked: Miss Red Devil, constantly charming with words and carries an enigmatic badge. I'm just nailing my point that it's nice to see you fueled with passion and working alongside prominent people and yet, remain wired to the ground. (I'm quite aware that this post is an acknowledgement rather than a question) Keep me posted ;)

I’m touched. You’re lovely, Angel as always. Miss you! xo

Two Monday Standouts

It wasn’t really a Monday blues for me today, wasn’t great but it was okay.

So I came back to Singapore today after spending the weekend with my family in JB and I heard two things I found interesting as I was on my way back. I always thought we can learn a thing or two from eavesdropping but this wasn’t eavesdropping, wasn’t even trying. They were just loud and I happened to hear them.

Scene 1

I was at the 7-ELEVEN at the JB CIQ and I was at the counter to pay then I heard a guy at the back of the store said loudly to the cashier….

Guy: Sembilan darab enam berapa? (what is six times nine?)
Cashier girl was busy.
Guy: Sembilan darab enam berapa?
.
.
.
Guy: Ala lambat la. Dah kira pakai calculator. 54! (Too slow. I’ve used the calculator. 54!)

Well, I don’t know what to say. Multiplications is not so difficult, is it?

Scene 2

I walked out of 7-ELEVEN, scanned my passport and got on the escalator to take the bus to Woodlands CIQ. There were an elderly couple behind me on the escalator. Around their 60s I think.

The wife stood behind her husband and the husband sort of stood in the middle of the escalator step and then there was a guy rushing to go down and just stopped behind the old man.

Wife: Eh bang, tepi sikit orang nak lalu. (Step aside, someone wants to pass through)

Husband steps aside and said…sorry. The man just went off the escalator.

Wife: Hmm kenapa la tak cakap ‘excuse me’, tumpang lalu ke… (He could have said ‘excuse me’)
Husband: Jangan salahkan dia. Salahkan mak bapak dia. (Don’t blame him. Blame his parents)

Couldn’t agree more with the uncle.

Anonymous asked: Hi aysha :) I admire you so much because you did a great job in the mass communication field. Would you mind sharing a few tips how to ace in these field?

Hi. Thanks for the kind words. I honestly still is nowhere yet. Just started and so much more to achieve and go through, definitely.

Anyway, I’m not sure what kind of tips can help but the mass comm field is wide and broad. So you have to try everything in the mass comm as much as you can and see what suits you best. From there, you can narrow to what you’re interested in most.

With determination and passion, I’m sure you’ll be fine. Hope this helps. Best wishes. :)
